In 3Below: Tales of Arcadia, we have all the imagination that is characteristic of Guillermo Del Toro’s creations. The director and screenwriter, recently winner of the Oscars of Best Picture and Director with “The Shape of Water”, here aims to the infantile youth audience and delivers a series that amuses, while drawing attention by its extreme quality. Rare things to see, together, nowadays (watch here).
This series, created and written by Del Toro, has the action and comedy that is expected of a production made for this type of target audience. However, if there was no social critique, even a discreet one, it would not be a production of the Mexican director – who is known to include these questions in his projects.

The story of 3Below: Tales of Arcadia focuses on two princes of an alien kingdom who, by suffering a coup by a traitor (who eventually becomes the dictator of the place), are hunted by him to be annihilated and prevent the risk of retaking the throne. Then they flee and end up on Earth. Accompanied by their faithful bodyguards, they transform the ship into a common house in the American suburb and wear disguises to try to integrate into the way of life of that society, unusual for them, while at the same time they must work hard not to be discovered by the dictator, who wants their heads at all costs.
To dub the original version of 3Below: Tales of Arcadia, Del Toro called a team of stars: from Uzo Aduba (“Orange is the New Black”) to Glenn Close (“The Wife”), including Diego Luna (“Narcos: Mexico”), Tatiana Maslany (“Orphan Black”) and Emile Hirsch (“Into the Wild”), among many others of recognized talent. Even SpongeBob’s original voice actor, Tom Kenny, is involved in the work. With such a crowd, it couldn’t go wrong.
3Below: Tales of Arcadia, therefore, provides all spectators, whether children or not, gigantic amusement. The production of Dreamworks is not behind of Disney’s or Pixar’s, for example.
