Bumping Mics with Jeff Ross & Dave Attell brings something not very common in this realm of stand-up: a show made by two comedians. The risk of going wrong would be enormous if they weren’t Jeff Ross and Dave Attell. Being two of the top stand-up comedians in the United States, laughter is guaranteed. Putting these two together on stage couldn’t go wrong (watch here).
We can say that Bumping Mics with Jeff Ross & Dave Attell is an almost-irreproachable success. And why “almost”? Well, for it to be funny, there needs to be a certain alternation between the types of jokes, since there is a risk of it becoming tiring after a while. This is what happens here. However, the talent of the two comedians makes us watch it until the end, even if the show gets saturated after a while.

Dave Attell hosts a show on the same channel, called “Insomniac”, which has garnered many fans for his cynical comedy style. He is also widely recognized as a great comedian who knows how to use his faults (and those of others) to make them laugh, and his half-serious expression, even when he’s making fun of something, is one of his high points. It makes everything funnier. The guy knows what he’s doing, and it’s no wonder he has many fans around the world.
That is to say: they keep the same style to the end, which can tire the viewer. The two use the stage as a kind of a battlefield: the one who leaves the other unable to reply wins. And this is very funny at first, but then it becomes repetitive and boring. There is even the impression that their repertoire is quite limited.
